Roofing website design

Roofing carries a reputation problem most roofers did nothing to earn. Customers arrive already wary, having read about cowboys and cold callers. Your website’s entire job is to be the evidence that you are not one.

UK-wide Completed work and guarantees Site from £129

The brief

What a roofing website has to prove

Every roofing site says reliable, trusted and family-run. None of that is evidence. What convinces a wary customer is work they can see and terms they can check.

Completed jobs with locations named

Twelve photographs of finished roofs with the town underneath does more than any paragraph about your values. Naming the location matters twice over: it proves the job was real and it helps you show up for that town.

Guarantees and insurance in plain words

How long the guarantee runs, what it covers, who is insured for what. Written so a homeowner understands it without ringing to ask, because the ones who would rather not ring simply go elsewhere.

Split emergency repairs from planned work

A missing tile after a storm and a full re-roof are different customers on different timescales. One wants you today; the other is getting three quotes over a fortnight.

Address the cowboy problem directly

Say plainly that you do not cold call, that you give written quotes, and that you never ask for cash up front. Naming what customers are afraid of is more reassuring than promising you are trustworthy.

Insurance and storm damage work

Homeowners dealing with an insurer want to know you have done it before and can supply what the loss adjuster needs. Very few roofing sites explain this, and it is high-value work.

Cover the areas properly

Roofers travel further than most trades. A page for each town you genuinely work in is the difference between appearing once and appearing across a county.

Structure

The pages I'd build you

This structure suits most roofing contractors. The proof pages do the persuading, so they get built properly rather than squeezed onto one page.

Enough to exist properly and be easy to reach. Right if you are busy on word of mouth and simply need somewhere credible to point people.

Adds a services page written around your area, plus a gallery of finished work with locations named. For roofing that gallery is the single most persuasive page on the site.

Expert

  • Completed work gallery
  • Emergency and storm damage repairs
  • Insurance work

Adds emergency and storm damage repairs, which people search for the moment weather hits, and insurance work, where knowing you have dealt with loss adjusters before is worth a great deal to a worried homeowner.

  • Completed work gallery
  • Emergency and storm damage repairs
  • Insurance work
  • Flat roofing
  • Guttering, fascias and soffits
  • Chimney repairs and leadwork
  • Roof cleaning and moss removal

Flat roofing and guttering are searched for by name and are far less contested than “roofer near me”. Moss removal and gutter clearance also bring smaller jobs that turn into bigger ones once you are on the roof.

Ultimately the choice is yours. These are the pages I would recommend for roofers based on where the enquiries actually come from, not a fixed menu. Extra pages are £50 each, at build time or later. Privacy policy, terms and the cookie notice are included on every package and do not count towards the page total.

FAQs

Roofing website questions

How many photos of finished work do I need?

A dozen good ones beats fifty poor ones. Phone photographs taken in decent light are fine. What matters is that each has a location named underneath, which proves the job was real and helps you appear for that town.

Will a website really help with the cowboy reputation?

It helps if it carries evidence rather than adjectives. Photographs of real jobs, a guarantee written in plain terms, insurance details, and a clear statement that you never cold call or ask for cash up front.

Should I put prices on a roofing site?

Rarely useful, because every roof is different. What works better is explaining how you quote — free inspection, written quote, no pressure — which answers the fear behind the question without committing you to a number.

Is emergency roof repair work worth a page?

Yes, and it earns its keep the first time there is a storm. Those searches spike hard and go almost entirely to whoever appears fastest with a tappable phone number.

What about insurance and storm damage jobs?

Genuinely worth its own page. Homeowners dealing with an insurer are anxious and want someone who has done it before. Very few roofing sites explain the process, so the competition is thin.

Do I need to list every roofing service?

Better to build proper pages for the work you actually want than to list twenty services you can technically do. A page about flat roofing in your town will beat a bullet point about it every time.

Can you take over my existing roofing site?

Usually. I will look at it and tell you honestly whether it is worth improving or worth rebuilding, and price both so you can decide rather than being pushed one way.

How long does it take to build?

Two to three weeks for a five page site, three to four for seven, from the point I have your job photographs. The main thing that slows a roofing build is waiting on photos, so gather them early.
