Plumber website design

Plumbing is two businesses wearing one uniform. An emergency call-out is decided in under a minute on a phone; a boiler replacement is researched for a fortnight. A site built for one will lose you the other.

UK-wide Gas Safe and boiler pages Site from £129

The brief

What a plumbing website has to do

The mistake I see most often is a single services page trying to cover burst pipes, boiler swaps and bathroom fits. Those are three customers with nothing in common except your van.

Gas Safe number where it cannot be missed

Not in the footer. Customers are told to check the register before letting anyone near a boiler, and a site that makes the number hard to find plants a doubt you never get to answer.

Emergency work needs a one-tap phone number

Someone standing in three inches of water is not filling in a contact form. On a phone the number should be tappable and visible without scrolling, on every page, not just the contact page.

Boiler replacement deserves its own page

It is the highest-value domestic job you do and the one customers research hardest. Which brands you fit, what a typical install involves, how long you are on site, what the warranty covers.

Separate the bathroom work

Bathroom installations are chosen on photographs, not on trust in an emergency. Finished bathrooms belong in a gallery, and that job sits nothing like a call-out in a customer’s mind.

Name the towns you cover

Plumbers usually work a radius, not a town. A page for each place you actually travel to is what puts you in front of “plumber [town]” rather than just your own postcode.

Landlord and letting agent work

Gas safety certificates are repeat contractual income. Agents search for them specifically, they search regularly, and a page aimed at them reads nothing like one aimed at a homeowner.

Structure

The pages I'd build you

This suits most domestic plumbers and heating engineers. The service pages are what earn the searches, so they get written properly rather than listed.

Starter

3 pages

  • Home
  • About
  • Contact

A credible presence and a number people can tap. Right if your diary already fills from recommendations and you just want somewhere solid to point people who ask.

Growth

5 pages · most chosen

  • Home
  • About
  • Contact
  • Services
  • Boiler installation and repair

Adds a services page written around the towns you cover, plus a proper boiler page. Boiler work is where the money is and where customers compare hardest before ringing.

Expert

7 pages

  • Home
  • About
  • Contact
  • Services
  • Boiler installation and repair
  • Emergency call-outs
  • Landlord gas safety certificates

Adds emergency call-outs, where being findable in sixty seconds is the whole job, and landlord gas safety certificates, which bring repeat work from agents rather than one-off customers.

Pro

11 pages · four more services, each its own page

  • Home
  • About
  • Contact
  • Services
  • Boiler installation and repair
  • Emergency call-outs
  • Landlord gas safety certificates
  • Bathroom installation
  • Blocked drains and leaks
  • Underfloor heating
  • Power flushing

Bathrooms are chosen on photographs, blocked drains on how fast you answer, underfloor heating on technical detail. Three completely different customers, and one combined services page speaks properly to none of them.

Ultimately the choice is yours. These are the pages I would recommend for plumbers based on where the enquiries actually come from, not a fixed menu. Extra pages are £50 each, at build time or later. Privacy policy, terms and the cookie notice are included on every package and do not count towards the page total.

FAQs

Plumbing website questions

Do I need a separate page for boilers?

If you want boiler work, yes. It is the job customers research longest before ringing, and a page that answers which brands you fit, what the day looks like and what the warranty covers does most of the selling before you arrive.

Where should my Gas Safe number go?

Header or footer on every page, and again on the about page. Customers are told to check the register, and the ones who cannot find your number quickly tend to ring someone whose number they can find.

How do I get more emergency call-outs?

Speed and visibility. A fast-loading page with a tappable number, a Google Business Profile that is properly filled in, and a page for each town you cover. Emergency searches almost never go past the first few results.

Is landlord work worth building a page for?

For most plumbers it is the steadiest income on the list. Gas safety certificates repeat every year, letting agents search for them by name, and a page written for agents rather than homeowners tends to have very little competition.

Can the site show my prices?

Call-out rates and fixed-price services like a gas safety certificate work well published. Boiler installs and bathrooms vary too much, so example prices or a from-price are usually more honest than a full price list.

What about photographs?

Essential for bathrooms, useful for boiler installs, and largely irrelevant for emergency work. Phone photos of finished jobs beat stock images every time — customers can tell the difference immediately.

Do you know anything about plumbing?

I have never held a spanner in anger and I am not going to claim otherwise. What I do know is which searches bring paying work and why a homeowner picks one number over another. You supply the trade knowledge; expect a lot of questions from me.

How quickly can it be live?

Around a fortnight for five pages and three to four weeks for seven, counting from when your photographs and Gas Safe details land with me. Whatever we agree goes into the quote as a date, not an estimate.

Next step

What work do you want more of?

Boiler installs, landlord contracts, bathrooms or emergency call-outs — each one points the site somewhere different. Tell me which and I will tell you what I would build.
